New slab, crawl space and footing foundations for custom homes, rebuilds and additions across metro Atlanta, inspected before every pour and backed by a free, detailed estimate.
Foundation Construction in Metro Atlanta
A foundation carries the weight of the house down into stable soil and keeps the structure level, dry and square for its whole life. JMJ Construction Group builds new foundations across metro Atlanta, including concrete footings, slab-on-grade foundations and crawl space foundations, for new homes, teardown rebuilds and additions.
Because we're a general contractor, the crew that builds your foundation is part of the same team that frames and finishes the house. That means the footings, anchor bolts, plumbing sleeves and floor height are planned with the rest of the build. See our home construction and home additions services for the full project.
Our Recent Foundation Work
Foundations for a Multi-Unit Development
Foundations for a 22-unit condominium development, built for consistency across every unit before framing, windows, siding and porches went on.
What Affects the Cost of a Foundation
Foundation pricing follows the house and the lot. These are the factors your estimate will reflect.
- The footprint and shape of the house or addition
- Foundation type, since a crawl space adds walls and piers that a slab doesn't need
- Lot slope, which changes how much excavation and wall height the site needs
- Soil conditions found when the footings are dug
- Demolition of an old foundation on a teardown lot
A Foundation Contractor That Knows Georgia Soil
We're based in Marietta, and the red clay common across north Georgia is something we plan around on every foundation. Footings, stem walls and slabs are built to the approved plans and inspected before anything goes on top of them.
We build foundations for new homes and additions in Milton, Atlanta and Johns Creek and throughout the metro.
Foundation Questions, Answered
Is a slab or crawl space better in Georgia?
Neither is better everywhere. A slab usually suits a flat lot and costs less to build. A crawl space suits a sloped lot and makes plumbing and ductwork easier to reach. For an addition, we usually match the foundation of the existing house so the floors line up. We'll recommend the right type after looking at your lot and plans.
How much does a slab foundation cost?
The cost depends on the size of the house, the depth and size of the footings, how much grading the lot needs and the soil found during excavation. We'll review your plans and site and give you a free, itemized estimate.
How long does it take to build a foundation?
For a typical home or addition, foundation work usually takes a few weeks from excavation to a finished pour. Weather, inspections and soil conditions can shift that. Concrete also needs time to cure before heavy framing loads go on. We'll give you a schedule with your estimate.
Do foundations need to be inspected?
Yes. New foundations are built under a building permit, and the footings are inspected before concrete is poured. Your city or county may require other inspections as well. We schedule them and keep the work moving between them.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. JMJ Construction Group holds Georgia GC license GCI000260 and carries liability coverage through Next Insurance, with proof available before work begins.
Do you offer free estimates?
Always. We'll review your plans and site and provide a detailed written estimate at no cost and no obligation.
